Riverstone Consulting is proud to have advised UNESCO and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on the arrangement of a series of Artist Talks to be held in Luang Prabang on 8 December 2022. The talks are designed to stimulate discussion about potential policy reforms to the creative arts sector. Attending the event along with a large number of creative professionals, will be senior members of the Lao Government, civil society organizations and diplomatic representatives. Riverstone's Project Manager, Tia Paxaxay, led the coordination effort and was assisted by our Consultant, Vieng Phimmasone, and Managing Director, Rupert Haw.

Rupert Haw, Managing Director of Riverstone Consulting attended the grand opening of the new timber mill in Bolikhamxay Province in May 2022. The mill is a world class facility and will enable Mekong Timber Plantations (MTP) to add export earning revenue potential to its silviculture estate. The event was attended by the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Australian ambassador, HE Paul Kelly, the Chairman of the MTP Board, Paul Speed, and MTP's General Manager, Nico Strydom. Rupert Haw is proud to serve as an Independent Director of MTP and to advise the company on corporate governance matters.

Rupert Haw, Riverstone's Managing Director, was invited to attend a private roundtable discussion on Opportunities in Development Cooperation hosted by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in February 2022. Keynote speakers included United States Ambassador HE Peter M Haymond, Asia Foundation Country Representative, Todd Wassell, USAID Country Representative, Michael Ronning, Courtney Weatherby of the Stimson Centre, and Sonomi Tanaka of the Asian Development Bank. The discussion marked the culmination of a CSIS research project in which Riverstone Consulting provided input on the potential of the Digital and Business Environment in Laos. Rupert Haw, Managing Director of Riverstone Consulting, was appointed by the International Executive Service Corps, a US-based, global professional services program, to consult on documentary quality assurance for regulatory reform programs in Vietnam. The appointment, commencing in January 2022, enables Rupert to review proposals, concept notes, terms of reference, and written deliverables to ensure that the documents are compliant with the mandate under which they are produced and to properly express the intention of the drafters.
